                Argumentation and Advocacy

NDT Names Top-Speaker Award

The NDT Board of Trustees announced at Wake Forest's Shirley Classic Debate Tournament, that the Top Speaker Award known as the Tiffney Cup will be named the Ross K. Smith Top Speaker Award. The award is presented at the National Tournament each spring. Past winner are posted at NDT Page.

Editors for Argumentation and Advocacy

The National Council of the American Forensic Association has unanimously approved Catherine H. Palczewski and John Fritch to be co-editors of the national peer-reviewed journal Argumentation & Advocacy. Their appointment is for a three-year editorial term for the quarterly publication, covering issues 47.1 (Summer 2010) to 49.4 (spring 2013).

AFA Announces Archival Research Award

The purpose of Archival Research Grant is to support research in forensics and to promote the use of the AFA Archives at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. The AFA will award grants of up to $750.00 The Archival Research Grant is awarded competitively and funded by the American Forensic Association upon the recommendation of the Research Committee.

Concerning Argument: Selected Papers from the Fifteenth NCA/AFA Conference on Argumentation (the 2007 Alta Conference) has been mailed to registrants from the 2007 conference.  Copies of the volume are for sale through the American Forensic Association for $35, including postage.  Registrants for the 2007 conference who did not receive their volume should contact Danielle Endres at the University of Utah.  The volume of selected papers from the 2009 Alta conference will be published shortly after the beginning of the ye
