Organizations sponsoring college competition

A number of organizations sponsor College and University Forensic Competition. Learn about them on their web pages.

	National Debate Tournament.   The National Debate Tournament was founded in 1966 by the AFA to manage a national championship tournament.  The topic for debate in the NDT is a policy topic, with debaters supporting or opposing a defined policy change.
	National Individual Events Tournament.  The National Individual Events Tournament was founded in 1973 by the AFA to manage a national championship tournament in eleven speaking events.
	American Debate Association.  The American Debate Association is an organization that promotes the educational function of debate by regulating tournament practices through sanctioning of ADA tournaments.
	Cross Examination Debate Association.  An organization of college and university debate programs sponsoring a sweepstakes championship and national tournament each year, and providing other support for forensic instructors.  CEDA is an Affiliate Organization of AFA.
	National Parliamentary Debate Association.  NPDA sponsors a sweepstakes championship and national tournament for colleges and universities utilizing a parliamentary format.  NPDA is an Affiliate Organization of AFA.
	National Forensic Association.  NFA sponsors the largest national forensics tournament for colleges and universities in the United States.  NFA is an Affiliate Organization of AFA.
	Phi Rho Pi.  Phi Rho Pi is a national honor society for speech competitors in two year colleges in the United States. They currently sponsor a national tournament for two year college students.
